Nature’s Miracle Works Wonders

It is pretty depressing to come home exhausted after a long day of work and be greeted by the potent smell of urine as you walk through the door.  You curse yourself as a pawrent, wonder where you went wrong, and if your dog will ever JUST be potty trained!  You start to feel as if your puppy is doing this to spite you for leaving him home alone or for not giving him that extra treat before you left.  Then the accusations start flying and you both end up grumpy and aren't on speaking terms the rest of the night.  Totally been there.

Whatever the reason, accidents happen and you have to be prepared.

If you’re a puppy owner and have carpet in your home, you are going to need to purchase some powerful doggy cleaners and stain removers.  I found two that saved my rent deposit and my sanity.

The first is an anti-marking spray that works well if your dog had an accident in the past and you don’t want him to urinate on the spot again.  It removes the smell of the past pee and has a deterrent that makes them want to sniff elsewhere.  It’s great!  The only thing I don’t like is that it only comes in an annoying spray bottle, that stops squirting even if there is a quarter of the bottle left.  Which leads me to my next recommendation…

For heavy duty accidents, I really like the Urine Destroyer.  It comes in a handy bottle that easily lets you apply it directly to stains.  You just squeeze out the desired amount right onto the stain, let it sit, then wipe it clean.  It cleaned the carpet better than anything else I tried.

So relax.  Try and enjoy the puppy stage. Pee accidents are easy to clean.  Those chewed up Manolos on the other hand…
