I begged my parents for years to let me have a dog. Finally when I was THIRTEEN (isn’t it cruel they made me wait so long?!?) we got 2 toy poodles. We named them Boy and Girl. I come from a big family, and my 3 sisters and I couldn’t settle on a name. Eventually Girl’s named changed to Princess but I still call her Girl.
Boy was my little man. He would follow me everywhere and we were inseparable. Eventually, I went off to college and then moved to Los Angeles, leaving him with my family in Maryland. I didn’t want to leave him behind but didn’t work the hours conducive to having a dog and we didn’t want to separate him and Girl. I visit home 2-3 times a year and when we are together, it seems like no time has passed. I dread the day that I come home and don’t see his wagging tail to greet me at the front door. He is 13 years old now and has started going deaf. He has really bad allergies that make his skin flakey. But I still see him as the loveable, cuddly pup from 13 years ago. Give your pups an extra big hug today because time really does fly.
Here are some pictures of Theo and Boy together.
